Home Sweet Home with Little Elena | Fredericksburg Virginia Lifestyle Photographer

I have enjoyed documenting the beginnings of this families journey from 2 to 3.  It all started with the bump, then the birth, and now bringing sweet baby Elena home.  There is nothing quite like the feeling of bringing your baby home.  I can vividly remember bringing each of my own babes home.  The giddy, slightly scary feeling of bringing your first born home.  Getting there, sitting down, and thinking "ok, now what do we do".  Then with my second I just wanted to be home and have my family all together.  To sit back and watch my daughter take in this new little bundle.  Her curiosity and excitement made any and all worry disappear.  I know Jason and Victoria will remember these moments and if it becomes somewhat hazy (and it usually does) they will have wonderful photos to remind them just how small little Elena once was.  She will one day ask, just as mine do, to see what she looked like as a baby.

Mommy & Me at the Beach | Virginia Lifestyle Photographer

Back in May I asked for nominees for a Pay It Forward Mommy & Me Session.  A photography group I was a part of had a big PIF movement going on and since it was near Mother's Day I thought I should give away a Mommy & Me session.  I received so many wonderful nominations and entered those into a random generator to draw a winner.  Alisa was one of my winners.

She was so excited and we immediately decided to plan it for July when the weather was sure to be dryer and warmer.  We picked a great day because it was gorgeous and I was able to find such a beautiful local beach which made the perfect backdrop.

Thanks to everyone who nominated Alisa, and thanks to Alisa and Sadie for coming and hanging out with me for a bit.  Little Sadie is such a doll and it was such a fun evening.

Jeremy | King George Virginia Senior Photographer

I can't believe it's almost a new school year.  It feels like the 2015-2016 school year just ended but here it is, almost time for the class of 2017 to have their moment.  Jeremy is a senior at King George High School here in Virginia.  I know his Mom from the elementary school where our daughters go.  When she contacted me about a senior session for her Son I was so excited.  I knew this local spot that would just be so cool for a senior session.  It's a little old and grungy which just creates such a cool backdrop.  Sure there are lots of farms and fields around but sometimes I just love a cool spot with lots of texture.   I think it all worked out perfectly, don't you?!?!

"Welcoming Elena" A Fresh 48 Session | MD & VA Lifestyle Portrait Photographer

Not sure if you saw the gorgeous couple whose maternity session I did back in the Spring but this is their sweet baby girl.  She was born on a busy holiday weekend but the hospital was so quiet.  It was such a nice morning and I got to spend it documenting such a special moment.  It is such an honor and privilege to be chosen to capture such sweet memories.  It is why I do what I do.  I just love the thought that years from now my clients and their children, maybe even their childrens-children, will look back at these photos the way I love to look back at my parents/grandparents photos.

For those not familiar with a Fresh 48 session; it is a session that takes place within the baby's first 48 hours.  As a Mom who has given birth I know that those first few days almost always become a big blur.  I can remember bits and pieces but there is so much detail you forget.  These sessions help preserve those memories.

Stay tuned because this weekend I get to go and take even more photos of sweet Elena.
